Some believe that if children are disciplined at a tender age, they subconsciously assume the same qualities even in later stages of life. Rules and restrictions can make a child focused and imbibe him with competitive attributes. In China, players are trained from a very young age, as young as 4. Consequently, these players grew up under a strict pedagogue style of coaching and later won medals for the country in various world games.

The extent to which children must follow the rules is very complex since children grow up in very different cultures worldwide. In India, for example, children are expected to be very submissive to their parents and other adults. However, this is not the case in Western countries, where children follow the motto 'Thou shalt do what thou wilt' promoted by celebrities and rock stars. As discussed below, I believe that following strict rules has advantages and also serious drawbacks.

Firstly, strict rules of behavior create responsible and respectful children who, in turn, mature into respectful adults. This forms a stable society that is virtually free from negative trends such as prostitution and drug abuse. Secondly, if children do not follow strict rules of behavior, they may get out of hand and become work-shy and indolent.
