Question:
Is it the best way to learn a culture to learn its language?
Answer 1
Culture plays a significant role in today's societies, and many people are curious about other cultures. Some individuals argue that to learn any culture, you must study their language first. I agree with the former argument, while there are some alternative ways to do that.

To begin with, there are many reliable sources and ways to know any culture around the world. One of the easiest ways is through the internet and social media. This is because most people around the globe share and post about their lifestyle and culture. To illustrate this point, when I was awarded a scholarship to study in the Netherlands, I started to learn about its culture by making new friends with Dutch people through Facebook and following them on Twitter. Nevertheless, the fact above is rare and mainly related to the academic ...

Culture is a unique feature of society that is bonded with emotions. Many people say that a better understanding of the culture will be possible only through the language that culture represents. I can't entirely agree with this statement. In this essay, I would like to point out various factors relating to this.

In my view, culture is the mixture of several elements, including rituals, religious practices, values, arts, food, etc. Language is only a cultural component and not a barrier to learning it. For instance, people who work in archives reach conclusions and learn about past generations, not after learning their languages but by evaluating the relics they identified through some explorations. All those relics contain symbols our ancestors used to communicate with others: animals, trees, birds, etc. When we visit some international museums, we will familiarize ourselves with the various cultural practices that exist in the world.

In addition, many of our writers published ...
