5. 表达“无所谓或不在乎”

1. not care/give two hoots 这个习语在英文中表示“根本不在乎”，有种嗤之以鼻，压根儿瞧不上的意思。

  • I don't care two hoots about having money, as long as I'm happy.
  • 只要开心，我根本不在乎有没有钱。

2. big deal! 这个短语本来表示“大事、重要的事”，但在口语中经常用作反语，意思就是“多大点儿事”，“没啥了不起”。

  • So he earns more than me. Big deal!
  • 他不就是比我多赚点儿钱吗？有什么了不起的！

3. for all I care 从字面上看，千万别误以为这个习语要表达的意思是“谁都关心”，它真正的含义是“一点儿也不在乎”！

  • For all I care, he can leave today.
  • 他今天爱走不走，我一点儿也不在乎。

4. could/couldn't care less 很多小伙伴碰上这个短语都有点儿晕，到底是在乎还是不在乎呢？这次一定要记清啦，不管是could还是couldn't care less，说的都是“不在乎”，“根本就没放在心上”。

  • I could care less what happens.
  • 甭管发生什么，我都不在乎。

5. give a damn 这个短语常常用在否定句中，表示“根本不在乎”，“没兴趣”。

  • I don't want to hear about her problems. I just don't give a damn.
  • 她的问题我不想听，因为我一点儿也不感兴趣。
