1. 基本步骤
1. 打招呼 - Greetings
以礼貌的打招呼开始：
Hi, how've you been？ 或是
Nice to hear from you。
对于一开头就谈正事而不说些寒喧语是很冒失的。
2. 切入主题 - Getting to the point
礼貌的打招呼或者友好的问候之后将话题拉回到正事上，可以使用这个句子
I'm just calling to ...来转开当时话题。
I'm just calling to see if you'd like to set up a meeting.
如果你是接听电话的，那你就需要知道对方打电话给你的目的是什么，可以这样说：
So what can I do for you？
3. 非冒失的打断 - Interrupting without insult
如果某人话题不断，然而你想要打断，可以这样说：
I would like to say something here, if I may... 或者是
Allow me to make a point...
你也可以只是问一句： May I interrupt you for a second?
4. 确认行动 - Confirming Action
如果您在电话上要与人确认所商议的细节，您一定要在结束之时再次重复刚刚的内容。可以使用的句子像是
Please let me confirm...
So, let me make sure I've got things straight...
重复内容来表明您已经了解了。
5. 结束电话 - Closing the call
表示一些祝福，在适当时机，可以说：
good luck on that interview 或是
hope you feel better soon。
I hope you get better。
你也许想要确认任何你已经制定的计划：
I'll see you on Friday, then.
有些时候，对其他人说一些像是很荣幸与他谈话的话。并且要记得有技巧的用这个字well可以使用在开头的句子来表示你已准备好结束这段谈话：
Well Jane, it’s been a pleasure talking to you.
2. 情景练习
情景一：
打电话的人要找的人不在，问对方是否要留言
Can I talk to David？ （我可以跟 David 讲话吗？）
He is out on his lunch break right now. Would you like to leave a message？ 他出去吃午饭了，你要留言吗？
He is not available right now. Can I take a message？ 他不在，我可以帮你传话吗？
情景二：
打电话的人要找的人不在，愿意接受对方的留言
Can I leave a message？ 我可以留个话？
Yes. Go ahead, please. 可以， 请继续。
Of course. Hold on for just a second so I can grab a pen and paper. 当然， 稍等一下让我拿个纸笔。
Sure, if you can excuse me for just a second. Let me find a piece of paper to write it down. 当然， 如果你可以等我一下下， 让我找张纸写下来。
情景三：
打电话的人找的就是你
Is David there？ （David 在吗？）
This is he. 我就是.（注： 女的用 This is she.）
You're speaking/talking to him. 你正在跟她说话。（注：女的用You're speaking/talking to her.）
This is David. 我就是 David.
That's me. 我就是。
情景四：
对方打错电话
Can I speak to Chris Wang？ 我可以和 Chris Wang 说话吗？
Chris Wang？ Im sorry, but theres nobody here by this name. 抱歉，这里没这个人。
I'm sorry. I'm afraid you've got the wrong number. 抱歉，恐怕你打错电话了。
What number did you dial？ 你打几号？
情景五：
打电话的人要找的人是别人，请对方稍等
Is Allan there？ Allan 在吗？
Yes, he is. One moment, please. 他在。请稍等。
Hold, please. 请稍等。
Hold on, please. 请稍等。
Let me see if he's here. Hang on. OK？ 我看看他在不在。等一下，好吗？
情景六：
接受对方留言时听不清楚， 希望对方重复
When he comes back, can you have him call me at (234) 5566789？ 他回来后， 能不能让他打（234）5566789 这个号码给我？
Can you repeat again, please？ 能不能请你再重复一次？
(Say) Again, please？ 再说一次好吗？
Pardon？ 抱歉。(请再说一次）
Come again, please？ 再说一次好吗？
Im sorry？ 抱歉。（请再说一次）
情景七：
跟对方要求跟（打电话的人）刚刚已经通过话的人再讲话
Can you put David back on？ I forgot to tell him something. 你能否请David再来听电话呢？ 我忘了跟他讲一件事。
Sure. I'll go get him. 当然！ 我这就去叫他。
