Question:
Although a lot of translation software is available, learning a language still could be advantageous. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Answer Hints:
Agree or disagree question. Choose to agree is relatively easy to answer. The reverse view is logically possible, but the IELTS raters shouldn't like it.

Agree with the view
  • The software can help people but cannot replace people
  • The software may help vocabulary and grammar but cannot express mood, and the latter is also a part of communication.
  • Language is an active integration of culture and society, and it's hard to mock it by software fully.
Exceptions
  • Learning any language will cost lots of time and effort; the software can help to speed up building language skills.
  • For visitors or some limited scenarios, the software can bridge the communications quickly without taking language courses.

Suggestions:
IELTS Essay Format:
-The conclusion is too simple, rewrite to summarize your points.
-You should avoid using common words repeatedly, and show your grammatical range and accuracy as possible. The essay has and(9), language(9), for(8), software(8), cannot(6), translation(5), only(5); try to decrease duplicated words.
-High-ratio basic sight words may degrade your writing; suggest rephrasing some.
-Suggest using a few rare or uncommon words to demonstrate your vocabulary range and level.
Task Response:
-The prompt is not fully addressed; there is an attempt to discuss some benefits and disadvantages, but ideas are limited. Especially the 4th paragraph hardly helps your point.
Coherence and Cohesion:
-The organization is evident, and cohesive devices are used, though mechanically.
Lexical Resources:
-The lexical resource is limited, but just about adequate for the task, try to enhance IELTS vocabulary.
