IELTS Words Spelling Practice

1. Overview
To prepare for the IELTS test, students have to build a strong vocabulary, especially for IELTS academic test takers. In fact, most IELTS words are for reading tests, which you only need to know or understand. However, some of them, a small set, play a different role in the IELTS exam, which you will use in speaking or writing.

In the writing test, you must use the right words to express ideas correctly. If you want to get a good mark, you should intentionally spell a few difficult or uncommon words. Because IELTS test takers aren't native English speakers, and today's students used to do homework on computers with spelling-check, the spelling skill is a weak point.

So if you don't prepare a set of words to spell confidently, you are hardly successful in the IELTS writing test because there is no auto spelling check tool available in real writing test circumstances.

Considered that students have separate vocabulary levels and aim different goals, we provide online spelling exercises for each word of our IELTS lists. The tool is brilliant and corrects your errors just after each stroke. Try a word, and you can learn how it works in a few seconds.

The online spelling practice tool is available for all four vocabularies, but we suggest you focus on words for the writing test; it should be a relatively small list. Then you may move to a higher level or larger size vocabularies to enhance spelling ability.

2. IELTS Vocabulary Spelling By Groups
As you guess, we recommend the 500 IELTS Vocabulary as the first list to start spelling practice. This list is concise and useful for the writing test. It is a natural start point to improve your IELTS writing vocabulary.

It is an essential list to prepare writing words. The average size list has more hint elements, such as pronunciation, synonym, and example sentence. So it's a good option for spelling practice. Below are links to the first two groups.
An IELTS spelling sheet usually consists of 10 random words selected from your specifying group. The worksheet can include all words of the group too. You can decide the word number by buttons at the page end.

Below are all links of IELTS word spelling based on four IELTS vocabularies of the website; each group has a separate link to launch its spelling practice.
